Annie Schlafly - Co-founder

Annie is passionate about welcoming new people to St. Louis and the bi-state region, to ensure that everyone who moves here has a positive  experience. In the past, she has served on the St. Louis Internship, on Women's Society of Washington University as a president , on the board of the St. Louis Public Library Foundation and she has been Chairman of the Board of St. Luke’s Hospital.  In all these positions, she has worked to develop strategies to make each organization stronger financially. She is a past recipient of the Woman of Achievement Award. Annie and her husband, Joe, live in the city. Their four children are married and they have 7 grandchildren.

Susan Gobbo - Co-founder  & Program Director

Susan is a Brazilian with Portuguese and Italian Heritages.  She co-founded and has led the International Spouses /Expat Women Group since February 2016. She is part of the St. Louis Mosaic Project which represents a larger effort by the region to attract and retain immigrants to our region. In 2017 Susan received the “St Louis Mosaic Ambassador Award” for her outstanding dedication in growing the St Louis region. In August 2018, Susan started working as an International Spouses Program Consultant for the St. Louis Mosaic  Project/STL Economic Development Partnership. In this role, she connects with companies and organizations, finding ways and exploring new opportunities to support international spouses in their adaption and integration process in our region. Susan is also an active member of some key organizations in our international and local community and contributes to making the region more international and diverse. Susan, along with her husband Mauricio and daughter, has called St. Louis home since 2008.  

Laura Wilson - Executive Director

Laura is a native St. Louisan. Her previous roles include Chief of Development at Epworth Children and Family Services and Vice President of Development at Mission: St. Louis both located in the greater St. Louis area working towards bettering St. Louis. Before working at Mission: St. Louis, Laura worked as a political fundraiser for members of the United States House of Representatives and Senate in Washington, DC. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Cultures and Politics in 2010 and is a graduate of Focus St. Louis' Leadership St. Louis class of 2018-2019. 

She is an avid Michigan State Sports fan and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
